day thirty: your personality

this particular photo challenge topic posed a problem for me -
how are you supposed to take a photo of one's own personality?!
my mum suggested a happy photo, seeing as on the
whole i am a happy person :)
but i still find it hard to describe myself,
so feel free to fill in the gaps! ;)

lost motivation for taking a :number: photo ;)
so many thanks to him for rescuing me!

above is one photo i did take today though, of a small :number:
of the many un-completed bags that are being made up at a local
group for operation christmas child boxes,

day ten: a favourite word

a belated quick photo of a :favourite word: in our household at the moment ;)
we're about to leave for a week's holiday away, and are very much looking forward to
time spent together, and with extended family.
due to poor signal, and uncertain internet connections where we're going,
you may not see any photos here for a while! I am hoping to
continue the challenge each day though, and will do a catch-up post when I get back!

i also wanted to thank you all for the lovely comments
and words you've written to me on this blog - they have been
so special to receive, and i appreciate each one!

day seven: someone that inspires you

as a child, i loved looking through this book of photographs taken by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe. the real-life stories told through the photos spoke to me, and there was the fascination of seeing, for a moment, a glimpse into their very different Victorian World. living in England at the time, very near to Frank Sutcliffe's hometown of Whitby, and often seeing with my own eyes the places he photographed, gave me an even stronger connection to his work.
now, as an adult, and loving photography myself, i admire and am inspired even more by his photographs. his candid, yet artistic photos are incredible in their detail and sharpness, and they never cease to amaze me. i encourage you to look at some of his collection of photos here.

In Which We Are Introduced...

photography has been something i have loved to do for many years now, and
recently, feeling the need to challenge myself more in my photo-skills, i began to
think of ways to take more photos. seeing other friends take up different photography
challenges and dares, encouraged me to make this blog to do so also.
this won't be a personal blog, so if you don't know me, you probably won't get
to know me much better, except through my photos. ;)
i hope you'll enjoy this challenge with me -  and would love to hear what you think!
